Amman International Marathon is a race organized according to The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and The Jordan Athletics Federation and will be held in October 17, 2009.

Fees:
- Local residents and foreigner residents above 18 years: 15 JDs.
- Local residents and foreigner residents under 18 years: 10 JDs.
- Foreigners above 18 years: 100$.
- Foreigners under 18 years: 50$.

Entrance to race, buses (transport from Abdali to start and back from finish), T-Shirt, cap, goodie bag, Promotional items and samples from sponsors, Champion Chip (Timing Chip), a booklet for all information for the race and runners bib number.

12 October in the office and from 13-10-2009 till 15-10-2009 in the marathon village (Hussein Park) from 12 am till 9 pm. Runners who have registered by the 15th October will be able to collect race numbers on 16th October at the Marathon Village in Al Hussein Parks from 12:00 to 10:00 pm

All runners must go to the starts either by walking or taking the bus from the old Abdali bus station. The 10km and 42km races start near the Greater Amman Municipality at 09:00 and the 4km starts opposite the finish at 08:30am. The buses commence at 06:30 with the last bus at 08:00 for the 4km race and 08:15 for the 10km and 42km races. Late runners will not be allowed to start the race so be early. The start line up will be filled from the back so the early runner gets the front starting position.
Runners will be transported back to the parking at Abdali from the finish at Hashemite Plaza commencing 12:45 through to 3 pm).

No. The race construction will commence on Friday morning 16th October and the whole route will be closed from 12 midnight on Friday 16 October to 16:00 on Saturday 17 October. You must drop or park at Abdali and participants must take the official bus to the start, and you can pick them up from the same place in Al Abdali, the first bus to arrive back at Al Abdali Bus Station is at around 1:00pm.

Yes the pasta party will be held on Friday 15 October at the Hyatt Hotel and will be attended by the leading, elite and international runners. There is an extensive range of pasta and other energy laden foods to help prepare you for Saturday’s race. Tickets are being sold at the race office, and the marathon village, but you need to be fast as there are only 500 places and over a week before the race there was only 250 places remaining. Tickets cost 15 JD but are very limited.

Yes, by coordinating Gendarmerie, Civil Defense, Public security forces and some volunteers, the streets will be closed so the race track will be safe and without cars

Yes, the marathon route will be marked on the road the week prior to the race. The 10km and 4km races follow part of the marathon route and then turn off to the finish.

Water is provided in 300ml bottles every 2.5km but in addition marathoners will have fruit and energy drink stations along the route. Marathon runners will also be able to collect sponges at regular intervals during the run.
10km and 4km runners have water stations at 2.5km intervals

Yes, there is a first aid station and ambulance stationed along the route and both an emergency and first aid station at the finish. Physiotherapists will also be on hand at the finish for those in need. Where necessary and in an emergency runners will be transferred to the hospital.

No. Bicycles, Skates, Motorcycles, and pets are NOT allowed, nor is anything that the referees consider to be a danger to the runner, walkers or other participants. Make sure you read all the race rules before running so as to enjoy your run to the fullest.

Your number envelope has your race number which must be pinned, using 4 pins, onto the upper front of your chest. The chip is used to provide your finish time for the race. Take the cable tie and the chip and follow the instructions to attach this to your shoe. Do NOT put your laces through the chip – USE the cable tie. At the finish after you have been given a bottle or water and a piece of fruit, you will continue forward to have the chip CUT from your shoes. This means cutting the cable tie. If you tie your laces through the chip the volunteers will cut your laces. There is no time to undo laces because of the numbers of runners. Only runners who return the chip will receive a medal. – Simple – No Chip = No Medal!!

The awards will be held in the Roman amphitheatre behind the finish and is expected to be televised. The ceremonies are expected to commence around 10:30 am. The top three men and women in the marathon will have their award around 12:15. All other awards in the 10km and marathon will be done as soon as the marathon runners' results are finalized.

Every runner who completes their race distance will get a medal, a bottle of water and a piece of fruit. The top runners and age category winners in the 10km and 42km will get prizes of the value indicated on the website. More over trophies will be presented for the school with the largest participation; the largest participation by a university, the largest company participation, and the oldest and youngest official participants.

There are a number of bands and cheer teams performing around the route during the races. The finish area and amphitheatres will have a full program of music and entertainment to provide a nonstop party. This will include famous acts such as Omar Abdallat, Hani Metwasi , al Amana Band ,Jadal , Al Hanona Dancing Band, and other Arabic Jordanian Bands. Food and drink will also be available for sale after the finish line, so remember to bring some money.
